Vijayawada, April 13: Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswabhusan Harichandan visited the Rythu Bharosa Kendra (RBK) at Vanukuru Village in Penamaluru Mandal in Krishna District, on Wednesday.
Speaking at a meeting organised on the occasion, Governor Sri Harichandan said it was an historic decision of the Andhra Pradesh government to establish Rythu Bharosa Kendras all over the State, to bring quality services within the reach of farmers and helping them from the stage of sowing of seeds to sale of their agriculture produce, through a single-window system.
The Governor said he felt proud that Andhra Pradesh stands as a role model to other States in the country in terms of the integrated services provided to farmers through the RBKs at village-level and congratulated the officials of the Agriculture and allied departments for making the Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs), a successful programme and appreciated their efforts and commitment. He appealed to the farmers, to utilise the services provided through the RBKs, to the full extent and become partners in the State’s prosperity and contribute to its economic development.
“I am happy to know that the farmers have been given sufficient training to place their indents for seeds and fertilisers directly through the digital kiosks at RBKs and the Mini agri-labs for testing of soil, seed, fertilizers etc. at RBKs have reinforced the confidence-level of the farmers, to raise crops with quality inputs and get higher net farm income, as a result of good yields”, said Governor Sri Harichandan.
He said the ‘Polambadi’ programme was a good concept to encourage the farmers to adopt good agricultural practices, discourage indiscriminate use of pesticides and fertilizers and safeguard the environment. Banking Correspondents operating from the RBK premises, with ATM facility go a long way and saves time and effort for the farmers, said the Governor.
The measures taken at the RBKs like eliminating the role of middlemen in paddy procurement, maintaining price stability in the open market, making available 17 types of farm equipment, diagnosing livestock diseases etc. veterinary facilities, have undoubtedly enhanced the farmers’ confidence level in the services provided at the RBKs, said the Governor.
Earlier, Governor Sri Harichandan went around the stalls set up at the venue, highlighting the services offered by the Departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Seeds Development corporation etc. through the RBKs and interacted with some of the farmers present there and enquired about the quality of services provided through the RBKs.

Sisodia, Special Chief Secretary to Governor, Sri C. Hari Kiran, Special Commissioner of Agriculture, Sri P. Ranjit Basha, District Collector & Magistrate, Krishna District, Smt. Ch. Vijaya, Sarpanch, Vanukuru, Sri M.V.S. Nagi Reddy, Vice Chairman, Agri Mission, have also participated in the programme.
